The Iranian President has done it again. You may remember that in a previous speech to the U.N. the ‘zealous’ Iranian closed with a prayer calling for the return of the Mahdi. Today, as Chavez called Bush ‘the devil’ and said he walked like John Wayne (whever that means), it got glossed over that Ahmadinejad closed his remarks with yet another call for the end of the world.

I emphatically declare that today‚Äôs world, more than ever before, longs for…the perfect righteous human being and the real savior who has been promised to all peoples and who will establish justice, peace and brotherhood on the planet.

O, Almighty God, all men and women are your creatures and you have ordained their guidance and salvation. Bestow upon humanity that thirsts for justice, the perfect human being promised to all by you, and make us among his followers and among those who strive for his return and his cause.

Like I’ve said, we may be suffering a slight cultural divide here in understanding what Ahmadinejad means. But even conceding that, these comments should AT THE LEAST raise everyone’s eyebrows, if not send us into deep concern.
