USC 9 – UCLA 13

Ouch. It may take a while for my soul to heal enough to comment on this one. USC was playing for destiny, two victories in a row would’ve put USC’s “run” up there with the greatest accomplishments in college football history (not that 5 BCS Bowls in a row, 3 Heisman Trophy winners, and three four losses in five years is bad). Not only does this loss hurt, but if by some way we could’ve made it and won in Glendale it would’ve erased the hurt from last year’s Rose Bowl.

Now I’m not sure what/who to root for…not that I can bear to watch CFB right now. I really hate Urban Meyer right now, and I’m rooting for Arkansas. But I would hate to see a rematch of Michigan – Ohio State (I wouldn’t even watch that). It would be completely unfair to the Buckeyes.

“Okay, Troy Smith, to win the championship you have to beat this team twice in a row…otherwise, they’re the champion!”

On the plus side, selling my championship game tickets after the Oregon State loss now does not sting. Plus, I have Rose Bowl tix.

See you in a few days when I feel better.
