Sanctions Come

It has been a while since I commented on Iran’s nuclear program. Since I last did, Ahmadinejad suffered a set back when his opponents showed well at local Iranian elections.

Now it appears, even after Iran warned otherwise

Iran’s parliamentary speaker on Saturday said parliament would alter Iran’s relationship with the United Nations’ IAEA nuclear watchdog, if the U.N. Security Council issued a sanctions resolution against Iran.

The U.N. Security Council plans to vote Saturday on a resolution imposing sanctions on Tehran for its nuclear work, which the West suspects is aimed at making nuclear weapons. Iran says its program is peaceful and aims to generate energy.

…the Security Council has imposed sanctions on Iran.
