Drug Coated Stents As A Failure of the American Health Care System

I gave a “lecture” (me? at a podium? in front of people? yikes) recently just laying out comparison’s of America’s health care system to the rest of the western world. But part of it was trying to explain away America’s massive health care spending.

A popular excuse is our consumerism, our love of new technology. This speaks to faults in both consumers and providers, we rush stuff out before knowing its cost effectiveness.
