If I Didn't Have My Paranoia I Don't Know What I'd Do…

Some people just need the anxiety and paranoia. Such people have always existed, and the advent of social internet media hasn’t helped the situation. Also it didn’t help when Ahmadinejad came to power.

On Tuesday an extensive Daily Kos diary detailed the secret fact that Bush has already decided to attack Iran. And we’re not talking about merely air strikes on facilities with centrifuges, if prideful English news sources like the New Statesman are to be believed,

American military operations for a major conventional war with Iran could be implemented any day. They extend far beyond targeting suspect WMD facilities and will enable President Bush to destroy Iran’s military, political and economic infrastructure overnight using conventional weapons.

British military sources told the New Statesman, on condition of anonymity, that “the US military switched its whole focus to Iran” as soon as Saddam Hussein was kicked out of Baghdad. It continued this strategy, even though it had American infantry bogged down in fighting the insurgency in Iraq.

They even give us the war’s name – “Operation Iranian Freedom”

That is real original.

My theory is that this interview was the deciding factor for the Bush administration in taking the war to Iran,

Damn Liberal Media Always Canoodling With America’s Enemies…

Seriously, haven’t we heard this before and before and before?

I want to mock these liberal nutcases without end, except I’ll have to take off the ‘liberal’ specifier because the other end of the spectrum hasn’t been much better. I wrote an extensive and detailed post about the fear that Ahmadenijad was attempting to bring Armageddon.

In any case, the paranoia is being driven by actual real world tensions. The next deadline for Iran to suspend enrichment was today.

The U.N. Security Council has set Wednesday as a deadline for Iran to stop uranium enrichment or face further economic sanctions.

And it doesn’t sound like we’re any closer to achieving that goal. Which is where our real foreign policy efforts should be focused because even if I raise my eyebrow at the strange lengths people take it to, the Iranian regime is dangerous.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Western nations Tuesday to stop their own enrichment programs if they wanted his country to stop its own and return to negotiations.

We’ll see where this leads but to the end of the world or 150,000 American troops in Iran? I wouldn’t put my money on either of those.
