How's The Pride of Massachusetts Doing?

Eric Novak over at The Health Care Blog documents what he thinks are early signs of trouble for Massachusetts’ plan to cover all.

According to him the average policy being put forth by the insurers is still over $300/mo. when the plan calls for such policies to be ~ $200/mo. He sums it up by saying,

Prediction: By New Year’s 2008, few will be happy to claim ownership of the Massachusetts Health Plan—other than the appointed bureaucrats and their minions.

If that is true I wonder what’ll it will do to Romeny’s ambitions if he’s still in this thing by the time the primaries and caucuses start. I suppose that’ll all depend on how public the goings ons of the Massachusetts effort is and how aggressively/effectively his opponents bring the issue up.
