   Hey TX must be a fake! the MR unit thing is so powerful it would have probably destroyed the room.. As we find out in the UK commonly enough when people put things like fire extinguishers in etc etc

   It could very well still be fake (which would make me a little sad) but at least according to the person who posted the video the block of metal is aluminum. Which I don’t think would cause a problem inside an MR scanner since aluminum is not ferromagnetic. The explanation I’ve read is that the it isn’t the force of the magnetic field itself retarding the fall of the aluminum blog but instead the electromagnetic force induced by the magnetic field acting on the aluminum block (see Lenz’s Law).

   There’s probably a reason I’m not going into radiology as the physics are beyond me but that’s at least the explanation I’m buying into right now.
